As a four-time High School All-American and later Men’s Junior All-American, Siaosi Mahoni has been under the watchful eye of USA rugby since his origins playing with the EPA Razorbacks in East Palo Alto, California. At 6’8’’ it was his stature that first attracted attention from coaches but it was his rugby IQ and quick feet that saw him graduate from Razorback to Life West Gladiator where he helped propel the university to winning Northern California, Pacific Northwest, and Western Conference Championship titles. Before joining the MLR, Mahoni anchored the scrum for PRO Rugby’s San Francisco Rush before being chosen to represent the USA Men’s Selects in 2016. Mahoni will be taking the field for the Legion’s 2019 Season as lock and, at only 22, is just getting started on a promising professional and national rugby career.
