Another California native, Mike Te’o joins the Legion after impressive performances with club and national squads. First introduced to rugby at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, Te’o later helped the USA Rugby men’s under-20 team to an IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy in 2012 alongside Legion teammate Dylan Audsley. Te’o’s talents also extend to rugby sevens, making his debut for the USA Men’s Sevens squad during the Gold Coast leg of the 2012-2013 World Rugby Sevens Series. Club experience came in the form of Belmont Shore Rugby Club where he played fullback before graduating to the short-lived San Diego Breakers of PRO Rugby. Te’o became Eagle no. 476 after selection for the U.S. national team in the 2016 Americas Rugby Championship and since then has earned fifteen caps. Te’o anchors the Legion’s back three with a considerable boot and deceptive speed making him a threat on both offense and defense.
