At 25, Jordan Manihera boasts an impressive rugby resume underscored by the fact he’s competing in one of the most talent-saturated rugby countries on the planet. The loose forward hails from Auckland, New Zealand and will be lending his devastating carries and rugby experience to the Legion ranks in 2019. For Jordan, provincial rugby baptism came in the form of selection to the North Harbour under-20 side which he captained to a championship. His senior rugby career continued with the Harbour with 24 appearances in 2 years, 2 appearances with the Blues in Super Rugby competition, a transition to Waikato in 2016, and eventual selection to the Maori All Blacks in 2018. If all goes according to plan, Manihera is en route to an illustrious career comparable to his favorite player Liam Messam of All Black rugby fame. For the time being, Jordan is most welcome in San Diego and will be another option in the impressive arsenal of head coach Rob Hoadley.
